Karen Atkinson Dales has been an attorney since 1997. She practices primarily in the area of Social Security Disability and is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives. During her years of practice she has developed many strategies and techniques that enable her to better represent disabled persons to the Social Security Administration.

Ms. Dales has retired after 20 years in the United States Army Reserves. She began her career as a medical records tech where she was promoted to the rank of sergeant. After nine years as an enlisted soldier, she received a direct commission into the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. She fully retired in January 2009.

Ms. Dales is an alum of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree in 1997. Ms. Dales also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
